Materials, Supports & Preparation

3D Concepts Ltd. uses several different types of machines to create all the products offered through this website. We also use cutting-edge technology that is not readily available to the general market yet.

Products: All products made by 3D Concepts Ltd. are made with either filament or resin, some products with two or more parts could be made using both filament and resin. The reason for this is simple, filament can do things that resin can not and resin can do things that filament can not.

Filament: Not all filament is made the same. We have run hundreds of test prints using multiple different types of filament to find the best filament for our products.  We have also researched multiple different manufacturers of filament so that we could understand just how their filament is made. At 3D Concepts Ltd. we want to ensure that you receive the best quality products that we can produce.

Resin: The same principles apply to resin as to filament not all resin is made the same. We have tested multiple different brands and types of resin to find the best resin for our products.  We have researched different manufacturers of resin so that we can understand just how their resin is made. By doing our homework we ensure that all the products produced by 3D Concepts Ltd. are the best quality products that we can produce.

Supports: When you receive your order in the mail you may find that the product comes with supports still on the product. The reason for the supports being left in place is simple, we want to ensure that we provide your products with as much protection as possible during the shipping process. The supports for the most part are simple to remove however if you have any concerns you can go to Karl's Scale Model Showcase on YouTube to find out how to remove the supports for your product or you can contact Karl through his Facebook page which goes by the same name

Wheel & Exhaust Stack Information

As part of our commitment to producing some of the best scale model parts for the model community, we have set up this page which contains valuable information regarding wheels and exhaust stack sizing

Wheels

*** IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR WHEEL SIZES FOR ACCURATE FIT! ***

20" 1/25 scale wheels are 24 millimeter in diameter (AT THE OUTSIDE LIP) and 12 millimeter overall width.

22.5 1/25 scale wheels are 25.2 millimeter in diameter (AT THE OUTSIDE LIP) and 12.5 millimeter overall width.

24.5 1/16 scale wheels are 42.6 millimeter in diameter (AT THE OUTSIDE LIP) and 16.7 millimeter overall width.

*** Please Note: our 20' wheels fit on 1/25 scale AMT "old issue" Goodyear's, recent pad printed Firestone's and all Revell tires. Our 22.5" wheels fit the more recent 1/25 scale AMT "Custom Hi-Miler" Goodyear's and the 1/25 scale AMT Uniroyal's from the Freightliner cabover and the Autocar kits. It's important to know that our 22.5 wheels also fit the 1/24 scale Italeri tires and those tires are a 10.00 20" in 1/24 scale. Our 24.5" 1/16 scale wheels fit all of the Michelin tires that came in every Monogram 1/16 scale tractor and the 40' flatbed trailer. We take all of the guesswork out of your wheel selection so you get the exact scale/size of wheel to accurately fit your project! ***

Exhaust Stacks

Exhaust Stack Details:

We offer accurate exhaust accessories that replicate factory equipment (OEM) and custom straight pipes with your choice of tips. We 7 different styles of these tips that we have selected from the current popular styles and “old school” styles as well. We want to offer our customers as many options as possible and this includes exact scaling for 1/25 - 1/24 and 1/16 scale builders.

There are 2 choices when it comes to exhaust packages for your build. You choose the vertical pipe diameter and we have scaled 5” - 6” - 7” and coal rollin’ 8” sewer pipes. Then you pick the scale for the model kit that you are working with.

Package #1 is our muffler kit, comes with 2 vertical pipes that have 90-degree elbows built into the bottom of the pipes. You can tie this into the factory cross-over pipe that runs under the chassis. The vertical pipes are meant to run through your factory mufflers supplied with your model kit. Simply enlarge the openings on the top and bottom of the muffler and run the vertical pipe through it. Then you can cut the vertical pipe to your desired length and add the tip of your choice. In cases where the 90-degree elbow at the bottom has slight bend to it, such as the AMT Kenworth W925 kits, you can miter cut the elbow and adjust it to fit or you can remove it completely and use the elbows supplied in the kit.

Package #2 is our straight pipe kit, and it comes 2 vertical pipes the do not have the 90-degree elbows built in. The elbows come separately. Now you get 2 vertical pipes with the choice of your tip built in so this is one complete pipe with no seam. You can also change the tip as some straight pipes on real semi-trucks are built/designed like this. Then you get 2 of the 90-degree elbows and we add a cross-over pipe if you choose to use it. If you decide to use the cross-over pipe from your model kit, you can still use the elbows we provide and again that is totally up to you.
